In case of limited space, it is recommended to reduce the insulation™s R-Value from the thickness so that installation can be done without compressing the insulation. If this does not get taken care of, the insulation gets compressed when installed in the cavity and becomes less effective leaving the damaged plaster.
The thickness of insulation is directly related to R-Value of insulation batts. Generally, when space is limited, the High-Density batts are a good option. What is the difference between Bradford and Earth Wool? And which is better?
They are both made of Glass Wool and comply with Australian Standards. The binder for Earth wool is different from Bradford's. Earth wool is manufactured overseas whereas Bradford Batts are Australian made.

They all comply with Australian Standards. So it is a matter of personal preference. The Bradford batts tend to be firmer whereas Earthwool batts may be considered to be less itchy by the installers.
